KUMON CONNECT available In-centre & Online Classes

The Kumon Method of Learning started originally in Japan more than 60 years ago and has now spread to over 50 countries globally.  Setting an individualized plan for every child, we unlock your child’s potential through the math programme.

Everything within our centre, whether online or onsite, has your child’s development in mind. Our worksheets have a step-by-step design which fosters self-learning. Students start from a place where they fill in any missing gaps in their study to ensure their foundations are strong.  By doing so, we ensure they are able to advance confidently one, two, three years and more above their school grade.

With our unique method, we do not limit a child’s academic study by their age and ensure they develop the skills necessary to excel, from basic counting of numbers and shapes/objects all the way to calculus.  Most importantly, we look to nurture children’s own ‘can do’ spirit, developing a positive attitude and self-belief so that they have the enthusiasm to face new challenges independently and therefore unlock their full potential.

About the Instructor

My love for children and the wish to nurture them, help them and explore their full potential drove me to join Kumon. It’s been a marvelous journey from India to Dubai where I have had the pleasure of meeting and developing so many children of all ages and abilities. Children never cease to surprise me with their amazing skills, intelligence and their joy of learning.

As an Instructor, step by step alongside our students to achieve long-term academic success. We aim to foster self-learning skills by closely observing our students, instructing whenever support is needed and praising their successes. In doing so, I have seen significant changes in the children I’ve instructed who have progressed to their school grade level and beyond, most importantly whilst enjoying the worksheets and with a desire to achieve more.

It is my role to ensure our students’ abilities are developed from the very moment they join. To nurture independence and self-learning, we start from the very basics. For example, with early learners we encourage them to write their names, time their work, understand the worksheet’s examples and apply successfully to future questions. This ultimately allows them to independently study content above their school grade level.

We believe that these skills can be developed in all students, even those that have not started school yet!

The joy and happiness I see when they can solve challenging questions not only gives them the sense of accomplishment but also to me as an Instructor.

Popular Questions

Students can start learning with Kumon in Dubai from the age of six upwards. Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than extra lessons and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
